General

What is BullionCoin Network?
BullionCoin Network is an iOS app for tracking your physical precious metals portfolio. It provides real-time spot prices, portfolio valuation, performance analytics, and price alerts for Gold and Silver.
What metals does the app support?
The app supports Gold (XAU) and Silver (XAG).
What currencies are available?
Free users can view prices in USD. Pro subscribers unlock 16 currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, JPY, CAD, AUD, CNY, INR, SGD, HKD, KRW, ZAR, MXN, THB, and MYR. Pro Smart subscribers unlock 25 currencies — all 16 Pro currencies plus CZK, RUB, PLN, AED, KWD, EGP, OMR, SAR, and BTC.
Is the app available on Android?
Currently, BullionCoin Network is available exclusively on iOS (iPhone).
What makes BullionCoin Network different from other gold apps?

Account & Privacy

Do I need an account to use the app?
No. The app works without any sign-up, email, or password. An anonymous session is created automatically when you first launch the app.
Where is my portfolio data stored?
Your portfolio entries are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. They never leave your device. Firebase is only used to deliver real-time price data and is secured with App Check.
How do I remove my data?
Deleting the app removes all portfolio entries stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud backup enabled (Pro or Pro Smart), your backups remain in your iCloud account — you can delete them from the app before uninstalling, or via iCloud storage settings. Without a backup, uninstalling is a permanent reset.

Portfolio Tracking

How do I add a metal to my portfolio?
Tap the "+" button to create a new entry. A guided 3-tab flow walks you through: (1) Product — select your metal type, purity (e.g., 24K/999.9, 22K/916, 18K/750), weight in grams, and optionally add a description such as "PAMP Suisse 1oz Bar." (2) Spending — enter the quantity (for multi-unit purchases like 10 coins) and the amount you paid. (3) Dealer — optionally log dealer name, city, and rating.
What is "fine weight"?
Fine weight is the actual pure metal content of your holding, calculated as gross weight multiplied by purity divided by 1000. For example, a 10g bar at 916 purity contains 9.16g of fine gold.
How do I record a sale?
Swipe left on any open entry and tap "Mark Sold." Enter the sale date and price. If the entry has multiple units, choose how many to sell — the app can split the entry automatically, closing the sold portion and keeping the rest open with proportional cost basis. The entry moves to your Closed Positions, and your profit or loss is automatically calculated.
Can I filter my entries?
Yes. You can filter between Open and Closed positions, search by details, and filter by date range including All Time, This Month, Last 3 Months, This Year, or a custom range.
Can I export my portfolio data?
Pro and Pro Smart subscribers can export their full portfolio as a CSV file, including purchase details, quantity, close dates, and profit/loss calculations.

Stacking Goals

What are Stacking Goals?
Stacking Goals let you set targets for your precious metals portfolio and track progress in real time. Choose from four goal types: Weight (target troy ounces of a specific metal), Value (target portfolio value in your currency), DCA (target average monthly spend), and Allocation (target percentage split between metals).
How many goals can I create?
Free users can create 1 weight goal. Pro and Pro Smart subscribers can create up to 999 goals across all four goal types.
How is goal progress tracked?
Progress updates automatically based on your portfolio entries. Weight goals track total troy ounces, value goals use live spot prices, DCA goals calculate your rolling monthly average, and allocation goals measure your current metal split against your target.

Prices & Market Data

How often are prices updated?
Spot prices refresh every 5 minutes during market hours. The app shows a countdown to the next refresh.
What market data is displayed?
The home screen shows the current spot price, daily high/low, open/close, bid/ask spread, and price change in both absolute and percentage terms.
What are market hours?
Precious metals markets trade nearly 24 hours a day, from Sunday 6:00 PM ET to Friday 5:00 PM ET, with a daily 1-hour maintenance break from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET.
Where does the price data come from?
Prices are sourced from GoldAPI.io, a professional precious metals data provider, and cached server-side for fast delivery.

Charts & Analytics

What charts are available?
The app offers Performance charts showing returns over time, Portfolio Breakdown with composition by purity, Timeline charts comparing cost versus value, and Monthly Accumulation charts.
What metrics can I see in the Insights tab?
The Insights tab shows total positions, gross and fine weight, total cost basis, current market value, unrealized and realized profit or loss, performance percentage, and average cost per fine gram.

Alerts

What types of alerts are available?
Three types: Price Alerts notify you when a metal reaches a target price. Portfolio Alerts notify you when your total portfolio value crosses a threshold. Smart Alerts (Pro Smart only) notify you on percentage changes or metal ratio changes.
How do alerts work?
Alerts are one-time notifications. Once triggered, they automatically deactivate. You can create a new alert if you want to be notified again.
Do alerts work when the app is closed?
Yes. Price alerts are evaluated server-side during each 5-minute price refresh. Portfolio alerts use iOS Background App Refresh, so timing depends on iOS scheduling.
How many alerts can I have?
Free: 1 price alert and 1 portfolio alert. Pro: up to 25 price alerts and 10 portfolio alerts. Pro Smart: up to 50 price alerts, 25 portfolio alerts, and 20 smart alerts.

What subscription plans are available?
Three tiers: Free ($0/month), Pro ($4.99/month), and Pro Smart ($9.99/month).
What does the Free plan include?
View live Gold and Silver spot prices in USD, track up to 5 portfolio entries, set 1 price alert and 1 portfolio alert, 1 weight stacking goal, Real Interest Rate signal with zone indicator, and pull-to-refresh price updates.
What does Pro unlock?
Up to 100 portfolio entries, 16 currencies, 25 price alerts, 10 portfolio alerts, up to 999 stacking goals (all four types), historical charts, CSV data export, iCloud backup and restore, Monthly Intelligence reports, Real Interest Rate with insights, and background price refresh.
What does Pro Smart add?
Everything in Pro plus Smart Alerts (percentage-based and ratio-based), GSR Intelligence, Real Interest Rate with full analysis (Fed Funds and CPI breakdown), up to 500 portfolio entries, 25 currencies (including BTC), 50 price alerts, 25 portfolio alerts, up to 999 stacking goals, 20 smart alerts, and smart nudges (up to 3 per month).
How do I manage my subscription?
Go to Profile then Subscription Details to view your current plan, renewal date, and manage or cancel your subscription through the App Store.
Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Yes. You can change your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

iCloud Backup

Can I back up my portfolio?
Yes. Pro and Pro Smart subscribers can back up their portfolio to iCloud. Choose manual, daily, or weekly automatic backups. The app keeps your last 3 backups with automatic rotation.
Is my backup data secure?
Backups are stored in your private iCloud account and encrypted by Apple. Only you can access them. No one — including BullionCoin Network — can read your backup data.
How do I restore from a backup?
Go to Profile then iCloud Backup. You can restore from any of your last 3 backups. Restoring replaces your current portfolio data with the backup contents.

Monthly Intelligence

What is Monthly Intelligence?
Monthly Intelligence is a Pro and Pro Smart feature that generates a monthly briefing about your portfolio. It includes a month-in-review summary (entries added, ounces acquired, total spent, average premium), market context, and goal progress updates.
Does Monthly Intelligence share my data?
The report is generated from your local portfolio data. If you opt in to the AI-powered narrative summary, relevant portfolio metrics are sent to generate the text. You can use the local template fallback instead, which keeps everything on-device.

Dealer Intelligence

What is Dealer Intelligence?
Dealer Intelligence is a community-powered feature that tracks average premiums charged by precious metals dealers. When users log purchases, the dealer name and premium over spot are anonymously aggregated to show average premiums by dealer.
What data is shared with the community?
Only the dealer name, metal type, and the premium over spot price are aggregated. No personal information, purchase amounts, or portfolio details are ever shared.
How are community premiums calculated?
When multiple users log purchases from the same dealer, the app calculates the average premium over spot across all submissions. The more data points, the more accurate the average becomes.

Troubleshooting

Why am I not receiving alert notifications?
Make sure push notifications are enabled in your device Settings under BullionCoin Network. Also check that notifications are turned on within the app under Profile and Notifications.
Why can't I change my currency?
Multi-currency is a Pro and Pro Smart feature. Free users can view prices in USD only. Upgrade to Pro to unlock 16 currencies, or Pro Smart for 25 currencies including BTC.
Prices seem stale — what should I do?
Pull down to refresh on the home screen. If the market is closed (weekends or the daily maintenance break), prices won't update until trading resumes.
